The SP2000 supports the AMC308 I/O card. This section includes the following information.
For information about removing and installing system cards, refer to the appropriate section in the Hardware Installation and Initial Configuration Guides (refer to the Documentation Library).
To decommission an IO card
- Log onto the Management/Routing CPU in slot 14 or slot 24.
- Enter startmenu and press ENTER.
- Select Systems and press ENTER.
- Select Software Revisions and press ENTER.
- Select I/O Versions and press ENTER.
- Enter n and press ENTER to find an existing card to decommission.
- Enter the slot number in which the I/O card you want to decommission (in the following screen capture example, slot 12).
- Enter d and press ENTER.
- Enter y and press ENTER.
- Enter y and press ENTER.
Press ENTER.
When the process is completed, navigate to the Available Software Versions screen and confirm that the card(s) has been decommissioned.
After verifying that the card is decommissioned, remove the card.
Perform the steps in this procedure to decommission any other I/O card in the system.
Consider doing a Complete Configuration Backup.
To commission an IO card
- Log onto the Management/Routing CPU card in slot 14 or slot 24.
- Enter startmenu and press ENTER.
- Select Systems and press ENTER.
- Select Software Revisions and press ENTER.
- Select I/O Versions and press ENTER.
- Enter y and press ENTER.
- Type the slot number of the new I/O card that you want to commission and press ENTER.
- Type the data default (internal0) IP for the new I/O card and press ENTER.
- Type the appropriate password when prompted, and press ENTER.
- When the commissioning process is completed, reboot the new I/O card.
- Navigate to the I/O Versions.
- If your system is equipped with AMC308 I/O cards, one of the following situations may occur:
- If a card has an out-of-date boot code, the following message is displayed:
Enter u and press ENTER. This upgrades the boot code and reboots the I/O card.
- If all the cards are up-to-date, no message is displayed. Continue to the next step.
- Verify that the RUNNING SOFTWARE VERSION RELEASE and BUILD VERSION entry for the I/O that you just rebooted now shows the correct (up to date) software version number.
- Do one of the following:
- If the version matches, the I/O card commissioning procedure is complete. Go to step 16.
- If the version is different and not up to date with the system, an asterisk appears next to the “RELEASE” column. Go to step 15.
- If the version does not match and an asterisk is present, upgrade the software on the I/O cards using procedure To upgrade the software on the IO cards on Upgrade the System.
- Press ENTER to return to the system prompt.
