Packet-to-packet calls involve ingress and egress call legs on the SBC, and you assign a packet service profile for each call leg. This section specifies that any Codecs Allowed For Transcoding selected in the "This Leg" row can be transcoded to any Codecs Allowed For Transcoding selected in the "Other Leg" row, and vice versa.
When you select Only or Conditional as the transcoding method in Packet To Packet profile and in the profile assigned to the other call leg, you could make selections only in the "This Leg" row in both profiles and not make any selections in the "Other Leg" rows. The SBC then uses the selections made in the "This Leg" row in each profile for its respective call leg. If you make selections in the "Other Leg" row, it has the same effect as if you made the same selections in the "This Leg" row of the other profile. Thus, the Codecs Allowed For Transcodings allowed are cumulative and reflect the contributions of both profiles to the ingress or the egress call leg— being viewed as "This Leg" by one profile and as the "Other Leg" by the other profile. When you select Determined By PSP For "Other Leg" in the Transcode section, the SBC disables the check boxes in this section, and the selections made in the profile assigned to the other call leg are used for both call legs. In this case, you should make selections in both the "This Leg" and the "Other Leg" rows of the other profile.
On SBC main screen, go to Configuration > Profile Management > Category: Media Profiles > Packet Service Profile > Packet To Packet Control > Codecs Allowed For Transcoding.
Select the desired Packet Service Profile from the drop-down list to view its respective Codecs Allowed For Transcoding parameters.
The Codecs Allowed For Transcoding window is displayed.
