1. Choose VoIP > SIP.

  2. In the SIP Server Address field, enter an IP address or URL.

  3. In the SIP Server Port field, enter the port number.

  4. Select the SIP Server Transport protocol, from the drop-down list. 
  5. (Optional) If you want to configure a custom domain name other than the default SIP Server address, select the Use Custom Domain checkbox. The SIP Server Domain field becomes active.

  6. Enter a custom domain in the SIP Server Domain field if you selected the Use Custom Domain checkbox.

  7. Create a list of secondary SIP servers for automatic failover in List of SIP Servers. Refer to Configure the SIP Stale Timer.

  8. Enable the Load Balancing (Round Robin) checkbox, and the Edgemarc will send calls to the configured SIP servers in a round robin load balancing routine
  9. Select the Enable Multi-homed Outbound Proxy Mode checkbox to allow phones behind the same system to use the default SIP Server or a specified server.

  10. Select the Enable Transparent Proxy Mode checkbox to intercept SIP messages from a LAN-side phone regardless of the Outbound Proxy and SIP Proxy values configured on the phone.

  11. Select the Limit Outbound to listed Proxies / SIP Servers checkbox to process only outbound messages intended for a pre-configured list of proxies and SIP servers.

  12. Select the Limit Inbound to listed Proxies / SIP Servers checkbox to process inbound messages from a pre-configured list of proxies and SIP servers.

  13. Enable Dynamic List of SIP Proxies Support  option to forward all REGISTER requests to WAN side SIP server addresses which are not pre-configured in the list of SIP servers or Allowed Proxies.  
  14. Enable Include UPDATE In Allow  to add the UPDATE method in the Allow header if it is not already present in the incoming request. Disabling this option will forward Allow header as in the original request.
  15. Enable PRACK Support to provide SIP PRACK interoperability support.
  16. Enable GEOLOCATION Support to provide SIP Geolocation header support. 
  17. Enable Call Audit Support results in  OPTIONS and UPDATE messages without an SDP, received within an existing dialog, to receive a 200 OK response from EdgeMarc and all OPTIONS/UPDATE messages with SDP to be forwarded to the other end.
  18. Select Enable P-Associated-URI Support to allow inbound calls to any of the P-Associated URI of a hosted client. 
  19. Enable SIP Use New Port on Hold Resume option if you want SIP to use new port on hold-resume.
  20. Enter Stale client time (m) to delete SIP clients that have not registered within the given time period.
  21. In the List of Allowed SIP servers, enter the SIP Server Address/FQDN, Transport, and Action.
  22. Select the SDP Codec Operation, from the drop-down list.
  23. Select the SDP Section that will be modified, from the drop- down list.
  24. Enter the Codecs in the Codec (comma separated list).
  25. Select the Reject when No Match Codec checkbox to reject the codecs that are note matching.
  26. Enter the Expressions in the Strip Matched Expressions for Request.
  27. Enter the Expressions in the Strip Matched Expressions for Response.
  28. Under the Priority Numbers, enter the priorities in the fields Priority number 1, Priority number 2, Priority number 3, and Priority number 4.
  29. Proceed to Manage the List of SIP Servers.
