Expanded Policy Request Menu

Policy Request Field Descriptions

The following table lists the policy request fields with a description of each field.

Policy Request Field Descriptions

FieldDescription
BASIC FIELDS:

Gateway (Mandatory)

The gateway associated with the simulated call's policy request. Gateway choices include:

  • GSX: used to simulate a circuit switched call.
  • SIP: used to simulate the second dip of a SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) call.
  • H.323: used to simulate the second dip of an H.323 call.

The gateway you choose does not need to physically exist. However, it must be listed in the Gateway table on the PSX to which you are sending the simulated policy request.

CalledNumber

The number being called.

CallingNumber

The number from which the call originates.

CarrierCode

The carrier code of the carrier from which the call is being routed. When ISUP signaling is used, the Carrier Code field is populated from the Carrier Information Parameter (CIP).

SrcTrunkGroup (Mandatory)

The trunk group from which the call was received on the ingress trunk group.

ADVANCED FIELDS:

AdditionalCategoriesCount

The number of additional categories.

AdditionalCategory

The additional category of the incoming call.

BillingNumber

The billing number for the call. In ISUP terminology, this is referred to as the charge number.

CalledUri

The called URI for the call.

CallingBusinessGroup

Includes information such as business group ID and line privileges for the calling business group.

CallingBusinessLocation

The calling business location.

CalledDirectoryNumber

The called directory number for the call.

CalledINNumber

The called intelligent network number for the call.

CallingUri

The calling URI for the call.

CallTrace

Use this field to enable or disable call tracing. If call tracing is enabled, you must provide the Global Call ID. Call tracing is enabled by default.

CarrierSelection

The carrier code selection method for the call. The data for this field is derived from the carrier selection parameter in ISUP signaling.

Category

Similar to OLIP (Originating Line Information Parameter).

CauseOfNoId

The cause of no ID, which can be Invalid, Reserved, User Requested, Interactive with Other Service, or Coin Phone.

ChosenCarrierInfo

The chosen carrier information for the call.

ContractorNumber

This is a Japan-specific ISUP parameter which includes the telephone number for billing.

Correlation ID

The correlation identifier.

CountryCode

In the CAS (Channel Associated Signaling) protocol, the country code is transmitted as a separate field. When a country code is present and the signaling protocol is CAS, the country code is passed to the PSX in the Country Code field.

DestTG

To simulate a SIP call received using global number format, specify the valid destination trunk groups that the PSX client would provide to the PSX in the policy request from the SIP DTG parameter. The PSX skips most call processing, fetches routes, and performs digit manipulation to convert SIP global numbers to numbers compatible with ISUP signaling, and then populates the route attributes in the policy response.

Dialed Number

The (unchanged) number that was dialed.

DPC Info

The customer-specific Destination Point Code details, including national ID, country ID, gateway ID, member status, and codes.

DstTGAttributes

The direction and bearer capability of the destination trunk group.

ForwardCallIndicators

The ISUP signaling forward call indicator data. The PSX client populates this information from the ISUP Forward Call Indicator parameter.

GenericAddress

This field maps to SS7 IAM Generic Address parameter to store information such as original redirecting number and redirecting number.

GenericDigits

Generic digits used for Switch ID/Trunkgroup ID-based routing.

GenericName

The PSX client sends this generic name parameter in signaling message.

GenericNumber

Feature Group D delivery.

HLC

The Higher Layer Compatibility parameter value received in signaling for ISDN/ISUP interworking.

JTIParameters

Customer-specific parameters.

JurisdictionInfo

The jurisdiction information parameter. This parameter stores the NPA/ NXX assigned to the trunk or extracted from the calling party number.

LIRoutingInfo

Used to specify Lawful Intercept Routing details.

LLC

The Lower Layer Compatibility parameter value received in signaling for ISDN/ISUP interworking.

LocationNumber

The geographic position of the calling party. The format is country-specific, but is likely to be some longitude/latitude numeric encoding.

MessageType

The SIP message type for the call, which can be INVITE, NOTIFY, REGISTER, or SUBSCRIBE.

MessageWaitingIndicatorState
Request

The MWI state for a subscriber with MWI services (either MESSAGE_WAITING or NO_MESSAGE).

MoreRoutesPolicyRequest

Check this box to request the return of more than 10 routes.

NatureOfConnection

This is used to specify the following information for the call:

  • Continuity Check Indicator
  • Echo Control Device Indicator
  • Satellite Indicator

NetworkData

The Partition ID and Network ID that is expected in the ingress IAM. The PSX uses the received NetworkData to map in the database to the routing partition to which the carrier's customer belongs, used for routing international calls to and from the carrier's customer network.

NFCI

This parameter, National Forward Call Indicator, contains zoning indicator, charge indicator, and IN call indicator fields.

NonStandardParameter

Non Standard Parameter represents any user- or network-specific ISUP parameter that is not in the standard protocol definition.

OriginalRedirectingNumber

The original called number. Signifies information sent in a forward direction when a call is redirected more than once and identifies the original called party.

OriginatingCarrierInfo

This is a Japan-specific ISUP parameter. It includes the originating carrier code of the incoming call.

Originating ChargeArea

The originating charge area for the call.

OriginatingGatewayInfo

The SIP server or H.323 gateway from which the call originated.

OriginatingLineInfo

The originating line type. This field is populated by the PSX client from the Originating Line Information Parameter in ISUP signaling.

OriginatingTrunkGroup

The ingress trunk group on the gateway that is the actual originator of the call or the name of the originating trunk group on the SIP server.

PolicyIndicators

Specifies whether to download script data in the policy response. With GSX script caching, the PSX does not automatically send script data in policy responses.

PortabilityInfo

Specifies whether or not number portability information is included in the request (NP Status), and whether the Query on Release (QoR) is in the ingress message or the local exchange must perform the lookup (NPI Flags). This is for INAP use only.

PresentationNumber

This field includes the presentation number for the call.

PriorityCallInfo

Indicates whether the subscriber is a priority caller.

PublicPresenceDirectoryNumber

Indicates the number type and number for a public presence directory number, if present.

RedirectForwardInformation

This field includes the redirect forward information for the call.

RedirectingBusinessGroup

Specifies a redirecting business group for the call.

RedirectingNumber

Use to specify the number used instead of the called number to redirect the call. Signifies the information sent in the forward direction indicating the number from which the call was last redirected.

RedirectionInfo

Provides the reason for redirecting the call.

RedirectionCapability

This field includes the redirection capability parameter for the call.

RedirectionNumber

Used to specify information sent in the backward direction indicating the number towards which the call must be rerouted or which has been forwarded.

ScpCarrierCode

The SCP carrier code; same as the carrier code in the basic request.

ScfID

Specifies the Service Control Function identifier.
