The SBC Core supports both call screening and call blocking services to enable a carrier to restrict calls based on either origination, destination or both.

  • Call screening terminates calls from a specified origin regardless of the called number. The SBC blocks calls based on the originating call processing elements (example calling number, incoming trunk group).
  • Call blocking terminates calls based on both origin and the destination number or call type (example full number, country code, area code and exchange, international calls). The SBC supports the following Blocking services:

    • Blocking: service to block calls depending on called number and call type.

    • Non Subscriber Routing to allow non-subscriber calls. Network operators can select different call types for which non-subscriber calls are allowed. For example, if a non-subscriber is only allowed to make operator-assisted calls, select only “0” from the list of Call Types.

The SBC always uses Non Subscriber Routing call filtering for all calls as a seed data configuration. This is not configurable.
