There are a set of certificates pre-installed on the system to allow quick VoIP Traversal setup and testing. These certificates, however, are not secure for use in production; anyone with a system can connect using the pre-installed certificates. For production use, new certificates should be generated using the Certificate Store page.
Before you Begin
Before configuring settings on the Firewall Traversal page, generate a new certificate. Choose Security from the Configuration Menu and refer to Managing Certificates.
Current Status
The current status of the Firewall Traversal sub-system is displayed as a series of Firewall Traversal systems. The image with the text “This System” represents the status of the current system.
Current Status
By moving the mouse cursor over the image, you can see a more detailed description of the current status. If an error has occurred, the error message will be shown here.
Operating Mode
The operating mode determines the location of the system in a Firewall Traversal setup:
- Disabled
- Internal Client—Configure Internal Client Mode Settings
- External Server—Configure External Server Mode Settings
- Remote Client —Configure Remote Client Mode Settings
