To View Server Admin Objects

A Server Admin configuration object describes the configuration of a server module. A server module can be a standalone server or a server card in a chassis-based system. From this window you can also run commands related to server administration such as managing coredump files or restarting/resetting the server.

To view the list of Server Admin objects in your system, on the SBC main screen, go to Administration > System Administration > Server Admin. The Server Admin window is displayed.

Server Admin Parameters

Parameter

Description

Name

Specifies the unique name of the server.

Actual CE NameThe instance name assigned by the user (If an instance name is not assigned, this field displays the name.)

Select a coredump profile from the drop-down list.

Role

Specifies the server module role. When set to Primary, it designates a server for internal processing. The options are:

  • Primary
  • Secondary
Device Smart Attrib

The smart control attribute value that reports disk life remaining. A value of 0 means that no overriding attribute is available. The SBC could still be using an internal value based on pre-defined settings of known disk types.

If the SBC is unable to retrieve a value (reports "n/a") for Disk Life Remaining when you check hard disk status (refer to System - Hard Disk Status) you may be able to specify the integer ID number of a smart control attribute that reports the percentage lifetime used for the disk. Contact Ribbon Technical Support for assistance in determining whether there is a valid smart control attribute available on your system.

Modular TypeIf set to 'true', the SBC uses modular DSPs.
Hw TypeTextual description of the SBC hardware type.
Pkt Port Speed

Packet port speed setting:

  • speed1Gbps
  • speed10Gbps
Hw Subscription Type

For deployments running on a hardware/server environment, this parameter displays the Ribbon-defined hardware type.

In SBC SWe deployments, this field contains the SBC SWe subscription type.

  • Virtual – SBC SWe configured for Virtual (non-Cloud) environment.
  • Virtual Cloud – SBC SWe configured for Cloud environment.
