During adaptive throttling, the SBC can assign different preferences (priorities) to normal calls, emergency calls, initial SIP registrations and initial SIP subscriptions. This is configured by the policer preference values assigned to each request type.
There are four types of traffic that can be assigned to a preference:
Call
: Preference value applied during normal call admission.Emergency Call
: Preference value that is applied during emergency call admissionInitial Sip Register
: Preference value that is applied during initial SIP registration admission.Initial Sip Subscribe
: Preference value to apply to initial SIP Subscribe requests during initial SIP Subscribe admission.Any other type of SIP traffic is given the same preference as Initial Sip Register
.
The value of the preference can be 0 to 3 where 0 is the highest preference and 3 being the lowest preference. By default, emergency calls have the highest preference (0). During adaptive overload control, some messages of a less preferred type of traffic may be rejected in favor of a more preferred type of traffic.
On SBC main screen, go to All > System > Congestion > Policer > Preference.
