SBC Network Configuration Summary - ISDN to TCP SIP Server

ISDN to SIP (TCP) Network

Configuration Steps

The Lync Wizard Task

The configuration process of a SBC should always begin with running a wizard; however, the wizard only needs to be run for the very first configuration.

Configure Media for TCP/RTP

Use the following diagram and the steps to configure the Media and Profiles for the ISDN to (TCP) SIP Server call.

Call Routing Configuration

Configure ISDN to SIP Call Routing

Use the following diagram and steps to configure a call route from ISDN to SIP.

ISDN to SIP Call Routing Configuration

ISDN to SIP Call Configuration Steps

  • Create a translation table/entry to perform any necessary number translations.
  • Use the automatically created ISDN to SIP Call Routing Table, or create a new one of your own. In the Call Routing Table, create a Call Route entry. Configure the translation table name to perform any desired number translations.
  • Configure the Egress SG as shown above, setting the Destination Type and Destination Signaling Groups as shown in the diagram.
  • Enable transcoding.

    In the Inbound ISDN SG:
  • Verify/Set the Call Route Table and incoming ISDN port

Configure SIP to ISDN Call Routing

Use the following diagram and steps to configure a call route from SIP to ISDN.

SIP to ISDN Call Routing Configuration

SIP to ISDN Call Configuration Steps

  • The Default Route routing table should have been created automatically as a result of running the Lync Wizard.
  • Create (or modify) a Call Route entry in the Default Route table. Select a translation table to perform whatever number translation is desired. Also, configure the Destination Signaling Group for the ISDN SG.
  • Enable transcoding.

    In the Ingress SG:
  • Verify/Set the Call Route Table and the Federated IP, transport, and port, as shown in #1 Inbound SIP SG (above).
