Hot Swappable Behavior: A hot swappable component is removed and replaced without any action by the user. The appropriate alarms are raised and automatically cleared by the system. The node continues to deliver service if it is active or provide protection if it is standby. The hot swappable behavior provides a simple, high-performance, and a maintainable method of achieving autonomic behavior. Hot Pluggable Behavior: A hot pluggable component is removed or replaced while the system is in a running condition. However, a certain level of user action is required to avoid any undesirable outcome. The node stops providing the service. Depending on the removed component or device, the BMC may immediately power down the remaining components.
