This object allows to configure the

Unable to show "metadata-from": No such page "_space_variables"
with the Centralized Policy Server.

To View Remote Server

On SBC main screen, go to Configuration > System Setup > Policy Server > Remote Server. The Remote Server window is displayed.

To Edit Remote Server

To edit any of the Remote Servers in the list, click the radio button next to the specific Remote Server name.

Make the required changes and click Save to save the changes.

To Create Remote Server

To create a new Remote Server, click New Remote Server tab on the Remote Server List panel.

Enter all the required fields. You can click Show only required fields at the left hand bottom of the panel to view and enter only the required fields to create a new Remote Server.

Parameter

Description

Name

Specifies the name of the remote policy server.

IP Address

Specifies the 32-bit IP address (IPv4 or IPv6) of the PSX Server in dotted decimal form.

  • IPv4 - This is V4 IP address in dotted decimal form (for example 128.127.50.224).
  • IPv6 - This is V6 IP address in hexadecimal/colon form (for example, 1280:1276:3350:2224:2222:3333:8888:1245 or fd00:21:445:128::7880).

Port Number

The logical port number for the

to use for IP communication with the remote policy server. Must be 1-65535; default is 3055.

State

The administrative state of the remote policy server:

  • disabled
  • enabled

Mode

The operational state of the remote policy server:

  • outofservice
  • active
  • standby
  • alternate

Action

The method by which queued transactions are processed when oper-state goes to standby or outofservice:
dryup (default)—all queue entries are processed to completion unless retries expires.
force—all queue transactions are dropped immediately.

Transaction
Timer

The time to wait (in milliseconds) for a reply from the initial transaction request. When this timer expires, a transaction retry will be issued. Subsequent retries of this transaction are controlled by retries and delaytime. Must be 50-60000, default is 500.

Keep Alive
Timer

The time interval (in seconds) to wait before issuing a "keep-alive" poll to the Policy Server. This poll is issued only if there is no other policy server activity during this interval. The receipt of any message from the Policy Server resets the elapsed time to 0. Must be 1-60, default is 5.

Retry Timer

The time in milliseconds that the

waits for a response from the Policy Server after retransmitting the transaction request.

Retries

The number of times to retry any policy server transaction. Must be 0-32, default is 1.

Sub Port Number

The port number assigned for the Ip address of the Policy Server for the specific purpose of communicating subscriber data.

To Copy Remote Server

To copy any of the created Remote Server and to make any minor changes, click the radio button next to the specific Remote Server to highlight the row.

Click Copy Remote Server tab on the Remote Server List panel.

The Copy Selected Remote Server window is displayed along with the field details which can be edited.

Make the required changes to the required fields and click Save to save the changes. The copied Remote Server is displayed at the bottom of the original Remote Server in the Remote Server List panel.

To Delete Remote Server

To delete any of the created Remote Server, click the radio button next to the specific remote server which you want to delete.

Click Delete at the end of the highlighted row. A delete confirmation message appears seeking your decision.

Click Yes to remove the specific Remote Server from the list.

Remote Server Commands

Use this command to reset SIP registration count.

Select switchBack from the drop down menu and click Select.

A pop up window is displayed with selected option.

Click switchBack. This will reset the SIP Registration count for the selected Remote Server and the result of the action is displayed.

Click OK to complete the process.
