This section provides information on installing and Unable to show "metadata-from": No such page "_space_variables"
on VMware ESXi.
Prerequisites
Install vSphere
Note
Screen captures on this page show fields and values that represent a typical installation. When prompted, use values and responses appropriate for your location.
Unable to show "metadata-from": No such page "_space_variables"
is a closed network device. Customer modifications at the Linux level are not allowed or supported. These modifications can cause stability, update and fail-over issues.
Customers should only configure
Unable to show "metadata-from": No such page "_space_variables"
using the supported interfaces (WebUI, CLI, REST).
If there is a need to access the ESXi server remotely, download and install vSphere Client to the desktop.
From the VMware ESXi Welcome page, click Download vSphere Client for Windows.
After installing, login to the vSphere Client using the appropriate login credentials.
Identify and reserve two static IP addresses prior to creating the virtual
Unable to show "metadata-from": No such page "_space_variables"
.
Note
One IP address each is required for the management port and media port. In the examples below, the management port is on the 10.56.230.x subnet and the media port is on the 10.56.227.x subnet.
Install SBC SWe Lite on the ESXi Server
Enter the ESXi server IP address into a browser to login.
After landing on the ESXi server, select Deploy OVF Template from the File drop-down menu.
Select the location of the , and then click Next.
The OVF Template Details screen displays. Make note of the information listed and then click Next.
The Name and Location screen displays. Rename the
Unable to show "metadata-from": No such page "_space_variables"
instance to make it unique in the inventory folder, and then click Next.Select the Resource Pool to deploy the template, and then click Next.
Ensure the Thick Provision Lazy Zeroed option is selected on the Disk Format screen, and click Next.
On the Network Mapping screen, if required, select a different media port network interface from the Destination Networks drop-down menu, and click Next.
Make note of the deployment settings, and then click Finish to create the

.
Edit the Virtual Machine Settings
Select the newly-created
Unable to show "metadata-from": No such page "_space_variables"
from the list in the left window pane as shown below.Select the Edit virtual machine settings link on the Getting Started tab.
Note
The default
Unable to show "metadata-from": No such page "_space_variables"
comes with 1 GB memory, one CPU and five network interfaces.
Edit Virtual Machine Settings
- From the Hardware tab, select Memory from the left panel.
From the Memory Configuration panel, modify the memory size clicking the arrows in the Memory Size field and click OK.
Note
The default memory size is 1 GB. Memory size can be increased to more than 1GB if desired.
Configuring Virtual Network Adapters
- Select Network adapter 1 from the Hardware tab of Virtual Machine Properties.
In MAC Address section of the right window pane, select Manual. Default is Automatic.
Note
The MAC address field is populated with the first three octets.
Finish configuring the static MAC address based upon local requirements.
Repeat steps 5 through 7 for the remaining four Network adapters (2 -5).
Configure Network Adapter 1
Configure at least two network interfaces for the appropriate network.
Click OK to save and exit the Settings window.

Power on the
Unable to show "metadata-from": No such page "_space_variables"
by selecting Power on the virtual machine link on the Getting Started tab.Click the Console tab, and wait for the login prompt (press enter a few times if nothing appears).
Note
To Access the SBC SWe Lite virtual machine, you need to further configure the network interfaces from the virtual machine console.
- Login as user
netconfig
and
this automatically launches the interface mapping shell script. User is prompted to change the netconfig password. The password requirement is six characters with a combination of upper and lower case letters, numbers, and other characters.
Enter the admin interface name and Ethernet 1 media interface name as indicated below.
Note
The interface mapping shell script prompts the user to provide the Interface name to map to the Ethernet Interface that will show in the WebUI. In order to correctly map the Interface, the MAC address gathered from the virtual machine editing session performed earlier in this procedure is required. Entering the interface name and MAC address mapping activates the interface, otherwise by just pressing Enter, the interface will not be specified and it will not show on the WebUI.
Verify the admin port is connected to a network that has DHCP enabled.
Note
If the network mapping and the connection are correct, the admin IP address should show on the console port as shown below. If the Admin IP address is not present, check your connections and mappings.
If access to the root of the console is required before the WebUI initial setup, the login is root
and the default password is chorus
.
Complete Initial Setup
- Enter the initial Admin IP address of the
Unable to show "metadata-from": No such page "_space_variables"
into a web browser. Verify/change information on the Initial Sonus SBC Setup window as required, and click OK.
Note
After completion of the previous step, the VM automatically reboots. Once the reboot completes successfully, the
Unable to show "metadata-from": No such page "_space_variables"
is ready to be configured
