The following procedure describes how to upgrade the firmware from the BMC web GUI.
Log on to the BMC using the default credential:
Username: root
Password: superuser
The BMC main screen is displayed.
Click Firmware Update. The Firmware Update screen is displayed.
Click Browse, and from the Open dialog browse to and select firmware-7X00-V<release>.img firmware image. To determine the exact firmware version, see SBC Release Information for guidance.
The chosen file displays next to the Browse button.
Click Upload.
The firmware image is a 26MB file and takes few minutes to upload based on the network.
Once upload is completed, the Firmware Update screen displays the firmware images and its details.
The above screen displays the list of entities, which are updated. If both the Old Version and New Version are same, then the update status displays as "No".
Click Confirm to continue. The upgrade progress bar displays on the screen.
This is a service affecting procedure and will power off the host side of SBC.
After the firmware upgrade is completed, the following screen displays. The BMC automatically restarts.
Once the upgrade completes, BMC and host reboots automatically. Verify that the SBC starts and sync with its peer server before proceeding further.
Close the BMC GUI.
Clear the browser cache and log on to the BMC GUI again.
Log on to the BMC using the default credentials:
Username: root
Password: superuser
The SBC BMC compels you to change the password after a successful upgrade.
This change is applicable only when the BMC is upgrade to version 03.13.00 and later versions.
Click OK to proceed. The User Management window is displayed.
You have an option to cancel the action. If cancelled, the password remains the same as the default password and you are allowed to continue to work on BMC. However, the warning message is displayed again on you next login to BMC. This reminder continues till the password is changed.
