This article describes the steps necessary to configure the features required for a SIP endpoint to register with the Sonus SBC 1000/2000 using Local/Pass-through Authorization Tables:

Add an Entry to the Local Registrar Table

To add a Local Registrar Table entry:

  1. In the WebUI, click the Settings tab.
  2. In the left navigation pane, go to SIP > Local Registrars
  3. Click the Create SIP Local Registrar () icon.
  4. Enter a name for the table entry.
  5. Click OK.

Add a Local/Pass-through Authorization Table

To add a Local/Pass-through Auth Table:

  1. In the WebUI, click the Settings tab.
  2. In the left navigation pane, go to SIP > Local/Passthru Auth Tables.
  3. Click the Create Local/Pass-through Authorization Table () icon.
  4. Enter a name for the table entry (i.e: Authorization Table).
  5. Click OK.

To add an entry to the table:

  1. In the WebUI, click the Settings tab.
  2. In the left navigation pane, go to SIP > Local/Pass-thru Auth Tables.
  3. Click the Authorization Table entry.
  4. Click the Create Local/Pass-through Authorization Entry () icon.
  5. Complete the Authorization Parameters fields as shown below.
  6. Click OK.

Add a Call Routing Table

To add a Call Routing Table:

  1. In the WebUI, click the Settings tab.
  2. In the left navigation pane, go to Call Routing Table.
  3. Click the Create () icon.
  4. Enter a desired name in the Description field.
  5. Click OK.

Add and Configure a SIP Signaling Group

To add and configure a Signaling Group:

  1. In the WebUI, click the Settings tab.
  2. In the left navigation pane, go to Signaling Groups.
  3. Click Create Signaling Group and select SIP Signaling Group.
  4. Configure the Signaling Group as shown below.

Endpoint Registration

To configure the endpoint:

  1. Configure the endpoint with the user's credentials and Sonus SBC 1000/2000's IP address.
  2. Click OKto register it with Sonus SBC 1000/2000 as shown below.

Registration Verification

When the endpoint registers, the registration request comes to the node through the SIP Signaling Group and Sonus SBC 1000/2000 responds to the REGISTRATION request with a 200 OK message.

Using the Log Exchange utility, you can easily verify the relevant SIP messaging for a successful SIP endpoint registration:

Upon successful registration, the Sonus SBC 1000/2000 Registrar Table also displays the endpoint as a Registered User as shown below:
