The Ribbon Life-Cycle Manager (LCM) is used to automate instantiation and Upgrade of SBC instances in Azure. The Ribbon LCM runs on a standard RHEL/Centos/Ubuntu or Debian instance which you must maintain. The Ribbon LCM is composed of a set of script files.

To locate the Ubuntu image in your region, use the following steps:

  1. Navigate to the Virtual InstancesTab.
  2. Click on Create and choose Azure Virtual Machine. Choose Subscription, Resource Group, Region and Size in which you plan to launch the instance.



  3. Click See all images, choose the recommended Ubuntu image - UbuntuServer 18.04 LTS - x64 Gen2 from the list, and then copy and save the 64-bit image locally for use later when deploying the LCM.
