Downloading ConnexIP ISO Image

Download the following ConnexIP OS files bundled from the Sonus Salesforce customer portal:

• sbc-V06.02.00.00R000-R000-connexip-os_0305.0400.00-R000_amd64.iso
• sbc-V06.02.00.00R000-R000-connexip-os_0305.0400.00-R000_amd64.iso.md5

To determine the exact OS versions, refer the appropriate release notes at SBC Release Information.

Installing OS

1. Log on to SBC BMC GUI.

2. Navigate to Remote Control > Console Redirection.

3. Click Java Console. The JViewer window is displayed.

   For the Java JViewer window to appear, the JViewer option should be enabled in

   Launch the host remote console through the

   BMC. Refer to Launching the Remote Console from the BMC to know more.

   
   

4. Select Device in the JViewer and click Redirect ISO as shown in the figure below Media > Virtual Media Wizard in the JViewer. The Virtual Media screen appears.

5. Click Browse in the CD/DVD Media 1 section.

6. From the Open dialog, browse to and select the "sbc- <sbc_version>-connexip-os_<version>_amd64.iso" file and click Open. This mounts the ISO image from your local desktop or laptop.

   Reboot the system from JViewer by executing the following command.

7. Click Connect CD/DVD. A message, Device redirected in Read Only Mode, appears on the screen.

8. Click OK to continue. This mounts the ISO image from your local desktop or laptop.

9. Click Close to exit the window.
10. Minimize the JViewer window.

11. On the SBC BMC GUI, navigate to Remote Control > Server Power Control. The Power Control and Status window is displayed.
    Observe that the "Host is currently on" message in the window.

12. Select Power Off Server-Orderly Shutdown option and click Perform Action. This action brings the SBC host down.

13. Once the SBC host is down, from the same location, select Power On Server and click Perform Action. This action powers on and reboots the SBC host.

    Once the BMC is up and running, access the JViewer window.

14. Press <DEL> or <F2> immediately, when the splash screen appears.

15. The BIOS configuration screen displays. Use left arrow key to navigate to the Save & Exit menu.

16. Select AMI Virtual CDROM CDROM0 1.00 from Save & Exit menu to boot from the virtual CD drive.

17. Press <Enter>. This instructs the server to boot from the redirected ConnexIP OS ISO image.

18. Select Install in the Sonus ConnexIP Installer Boot menu and press <Enter> to start the installation.

    Select American English and press <Enter>.

    The automated installation process starts. This process takes approximately 30 to 40 minutes.

    Once the installation is complete, the disk partition upgrade starts. At this stage, DO NOT power off the system.

    Post the dis-partition process, the SBC reboots.

    Once the system reboots, the ConnexIP login screen appears on the screen.

19. Close the JViewer window.
