The T1/E1 PSTN Interface card is a TNV1 compliant digital interface card with integrated Channel Service Unit (CSU) function for direct connection to outside plant wiring. This card has board-mounted protection circuits for electrical isolation and protection against power crossing, lightning surges and hazardous voltages.

Card Port Versions

The T1/E1 PSTN Interface card offers 8 T1/E1 ports; the number of active ports is dependent upon licensing. For more information, see Working with Licenses. The 8-port card is shown below; all T1/E1 ports on the card have identical electrical circuit design.

Port Status LEDs

Each T1/E1 port on the T1/E1 PSTN Interface card has an LED to indicate its operational status. The status states are described below:

Color

Status

Description

Off

No Signal

Indicates the port is not connected or connected cable is not providing a signal. Connect a cable or check the far-end connection.

Green

Link Up

Indicates the port is operating normally.

Red

LOF

Indicates the port has a Loss Of Framing (LOF) error. A cable is connected, but the

Spacevars
0longproduct
cannot detect a correct T1 or E1 frame.

Amber

Yellow

Indicates there is a problem with the far-end connection. This status is usually communicated from remote side and indicates the

Spacevars
0longproduct
receiver is synced up, but there is a problem at the remote side receiver.
