Use the Local Record window to create and work with local DNS resource records. Local resource records are associated with a particular address context and DNS group and are used to locally resolve an FQDN rather than querying an external server

 

This object specifies the Local DNS Resource Records. It is local to the address context. It applies to that particular address context.

To View Local

Record

Records

On the SBC main screen, go to Configuration >  > System Provisioning >  > Category: Base Provisioning >DNS > Dns Group > Local Record. The Local Record window is displayed.

The Local Record window opens showing all configured local records. Use the Address Context and DNS Group drop-down lists to filter the listThe Dns Group - Local Record can be checked for each Address Context or for each Dns Group or for all the Address Contexts and Dns Groups created. Use the drop-down box to select the desired Address Context and Dns Group.

Create a Local Record

To edit any of the Dns Group - Local Record in the list, click the radio button next to the specific Local Record name.

Local DNS records must be associated with a specific address context and DNS group. To create a new local record entry:

  1. Select the Address Context and DNS Group with which you want to associate the local record. The New Local Record option becomes available.

  2. Click New Local Record. The Create New

Make the required changes and click Save at the right hand bottom of the panel to save the changes made.

To Create Local Record

To create a new Dns Group - Local Record, click New Local Record tab on the Local Record List panel.

  • Centralized-roundrobin—Specifies that the calls will access DNS record entries in a round-robin fashion with respect to the whole system.
Enter all the required fields. You can click Show only required fields at the left hand bottom of the panel to view and enter only the required fields to create a Local Record

To Edit a Local Record

To edit a local DNS record object:

  1. Click the radio button next to the local record you want to edit. The Edit Selected Local Record window opens.
  2. Modify the options as needed and click Save.

To Delete a Local Record

To delete any of the created Local Records, click a local DNS record object:

  1. Click the radio button next to the
