Overview

This document details the steps and inter-related parameters to establish an ISDN to SIP Server configuration using TCP transport.

Configure Media for TCP/RTP

Use the following diagram and the steps to configure the Media and Profiles for the ISDN to (TCP) SIP Server call.

Media Configuration Steps

1. Ensure there is a media profile for your preferred codec (refer to Managing Media Profiles).
2. Verify the Media list for Media (refer to Managing Media Lists).

In the SIP Server Table:
3. Add a SIP Server Host for the destination server (IP or FQDN). For example: host1.vx.net (refer to Managing SIP Server Tables).
4. Configure the SIP Options and the (5) TCP Reuse Parameters.

Create a Signaling Group (for example, host1.vx.net)
6. Configure the Media List entry.
7. Configure the Federated IP/FQDN, port and protocol.
8. Configure the SIP Server Table entry.

Call Routing Configuration

Configure ISDN to SIP Call Routing

Use the following steps to configure a call route from ISDN to SIP.

ISDN to SIP Call Configuration Steps

• Create a translation table and entry to perform any necessary number translations.
• Use the automatically created ISDN to SIP Call Routing Table, or create a new one.
• In the Call Routing Table, create a Call Route entry. Configure the translation table name to perform any desired number translations. Refer to Creating and Modifying Entries to Call Routing Tables.
• Configure the Egress Signaling Group Destination Type and Destination Signaling Groups. Refer to Creating and Modifying SIP Signaling Groups.
• Enable transcoding. Refer to Creating and Modifying Entries to Message Translation Tables.
• In the Inbound ISDN Signaling Group, verify and configure the Call Route Table and incoming ISDN port. Refer to Creating and Modifying SIP Signaling Groups.
  
  

Configure SIP to ISDN Call Routing

Use the following steps to configure a call route from SIP to ISDN:

• Configure a Default Route routing table. Refer to Creating and Modifying Entries to Call Routing Tables.
• Create (or modify) a Call Route entry in the Default Route table. Select a translation table to perform the desired number translation.
• Configure the Destination Signaling Group for the ISDN Signaling Group. Refer to Creating and Modifying ISDN Signaling Groups.
• Enable transcoding.
• In the Ingress Signaling Group, verify and configure the Call Route Table and the Federated IP, transport, and port.
