This section describes the method to upgrade the
BMC and BIOS firmware. The BMC and BIOS images are bundled into a single firmware package
"firmware-7X00-V<release>.img"....
.
The following procedure describes how to upgrade the firmware from the BMC web GUI.
Log on to the BMC using the following credentials:
Username: root
Password: superuser

Click Firmware Update. The Firmware Update screen is displayed.

Click Browse, and from the Open dialog browse to and select select the firmware-7X00-V<release>.img firmware image. To determine the exact firmware version, see SBC Release Information for guidancethe current release notes.
The chosen file displays next to the Browse button.

Click Upload.

Once upload is completed, the Firmware Update screen Update screen displays the firmware images and its detailsversions.

The above screen displays the list of entities, which are updated. If both the Old Version and New Version are same, then the update status displays as "No". |
Click Confirm to continue. The upgrade progress bar displays on the screen.

After the firmware upgrade is completed, the following screen displays. The BMC automatically restarts.

Once the upgrade completes, the BMC and host reboots reboot automatically. Verify that the SBC starts and sync with its peer server before proceeding further. |
Close the SBC BMC GUI.
Clear the browser cache and log on to the BMC GUI again.
Log on to the SBC BMC GUI again.
The SBC BMC prompts you to change the password after a successful upgrade.

Click OK to proceed. The User Management window is displayed.

You have an option to cancel the action. If canceled, the password remains the same as the default password and you are allowed to continue to work on the BMC. However, the warning message is displayed again on your next login to BMC. This reminder continues until the password is changed. For information on how to successfully change the SBC BMC password, refer to Changing the BMC Password. |
- Verify the upgraded version in the BMC main screen and ensure the BIOS and BMC versions match the versions listed in the release notes.
