In an HA configuration, the two SBC platforms
platforms are connected to each other with
the two
HA ports using a pair of GigE cables1 Gb/s HA links. The connection provides
both box
-level and port-level redundancy.
The HA pair consists of eight management ports; four ports each per platform. Each of the HA peer
platforms has four management ports with their own addresses, and these platforms can each be controlled through these addresses whether the platform is currently in an Active or Standby state. Additionally, the user can assign a Logical Management address to the HA pair (refer to Configuring Logical Management Interfaces). The user can control the Active HA peer through this Logical Management address and When switchover occurs, the logical management address follows the currently active server.
For the media The packet ports, the MAC and IP addresses float between the HA pair (are replicated from active Active to standby Standby on HA peer switchover).A logical management address is the IP address associated with a Logical Management IP Interface previously created using EMA or CLI.
Connect HA cables between the HA pair as shown:

The fails The SBC will fail to pair with a machine that is not functionally equivalent in an upward compatibility configuration. During system installation and startup, make sure that the servers are designed to operate together and support full redundancy and high availability. Also, an HA pairing between SBC 5210, SBC 5200, SBC 5110, SBC 5100, SBC 5400 and SBC 7000 is forbidden.operating with an identical configuration (for example, same Media Port Speed setting for both SBC 5400 HA peers). Furthermore, an can only pair with another platform of the same type (for example, an can only pair with another ). |
