The

Spacevars
0series4
provides security controls on signaling and call establishment through call restrictions services such as:

  • Screening Services—Use screening services to specify calls not to route and to clear based on origination CPE (Customer Premises Equipment) such as calling number. For example, use screening to clear all calls from a particular subscriber who is behind on bill payments.

  • Blocking Services—Use blocking services to block calls based on destination CPEs as well as origination properties of the call (called number, for example).

  • Call Type Filtering Services—Use call type filtering services to define the call types that will be handled for non-subscribers or casual calls.

Screening Services

The

Spacevars
0series4
supports Screening service which blocks calls based on the originating call processing elements (example, calling number, incoming trunk group). Two types of screenings apply:

  • Normal—generally done for non-payment of bills
  • Fraud—generally done for fraudulent charges.

Blocking Services

The

Spacevars
0series4
supports Blocking service which blocks calls based on called number and call type.

Call Type Filtering Service

The

Spacevars
0series4
supports the Non Subscriber call type filtering service which allows Non Subscriber calls. Network operators can select different call types for which Non-Subscriber calls are allowed. For example, if a Non-Subscriber is only allowed to make Operator Assisted calls, select only 0 - from the list of Call Types. This is a non-configurable SBC service.

Note

The SBC 5x00 does not support Casual call routing call filtering service to allow Casual Calls. A call is considered to be casual if the carrier is dialed explicitly by the caller. Network operators may select the Call Types for which Casual Calls are allowed.
