This object allows you to administratively control the SBC with the Policy Server embedded within the SBC.

To View Local Server

On SBC main screen, go to Configuration > System Setup >Policy Server > Local Server. The Local Server window is displayed.

To Edit Local Sever

To edit any of the Local Servers in the list, click the radio button next to the specific Local Server name.

The Edit Selected Local Server window is displayed below.

Make the required changes and click Save to save the changes.

To Create Local Server

To create a new Local Server, click New Local Server tab on the Local Server List panel.

Enter all the required fields. You can click Show only required fields at the left hand bottom of the panel to view and enter only the required fields to create a new Local Server.

Parameter

Description

Name

Specifies the name of the local policy server.

State

The administrative state of the local policy server:

  • disabled
  • enabled

Mode

The operational state of the local policy server:

  • outofservice
  • active
  • standby
  • alternate

Action

The method by which queued transactions are processed when oper-state goes to standby or outofservice:
dryup (default)all queue entries are processed to completion unless retries expires.
force—all queue transactions are dropped immediately.

Transaction
Timer

The time to wait (in milliseconds) for a reply from the initial transaction request. When this timer expires, a transaction retry will be issued. Subsequent retries of this transaction are controlled by retries and delay time. Must be 50-60000, default is 500.

Keep Alive Timer

The time interval (in seconds) to wait before issuing a "keep-alive" poll to the Policy Server. This poll is issued only if there is no other policy server activity during this interval. The receipt of any message from the Policy Server resets the elapsed time to 0. Must be 1-60, default is 5.

Retry Timer

The time in milliseconds that the SBC waits for a response from the Policy Server after retransmitting the transaction request.

Retries

The number of times to retry any policy server transaction. Must be 0-32, default is 1.

To Copy Local Server

To copy any of the created Local Server and to make any minor changes, click the radio button next to the specific Local Server to highlight the row.

Click Copy Local Server tab on the Local Server List panel.

The Copy Selected Local Server window is displayed along with the field details which can be edited.

Make the required changes to the required fields and click Save to save the changes. The copied Local Server is displayed at the bottom of the original Local Server in the Local Server List panel.

To Delete Local Server

To delete any of the created Local Server, click the radio button next to the specific local server which you want to delete.

Click Delete at the end of the highlighted row. A delete confirmation message appears seeking your decision.

Click Yes to remove the specific Local Server from the list.
