For CODEC G711SS, specifies whether Use the Silence Insertion Descriptor window to define the Silence Insertion Descriptor (SID) packets are sent during a call.

To View and Edit Silence Insertion Descriptor

attributes for a Packet Service Profile. These settings apply if sending SID packets is enabled in the codec entry (must be using the G711ss codec).

On the On SBC main screen, go to Configuration > Profile Management > Category: Media Profiles > Packet Service Profile >Silence Insertion Descriptor or
Configuration > System Provisioning > Call Routing > Profiles Packet Service Profile > Silence Insertion Descriptor or
Configuration > System Provisioning > Trunk ProvisioningPacket Service Profile > Silence Insertion Descriptor or
All > Profiles > MediaPacket Service Profile > Silence Insertion Descriptor.

The Silence Insertion Descriptor window opens. Select a Select the desired Packet Service Profile from the drop-down list to view and edit its respective Silence Insertion Descriptor parameters.The Silence Insertion Descriptor window is displayed.

Specifies the G.711 Silence Insertion Descriptor ( SID ) RTP payload type, in the range of 0 to 127. This applies only if the preferred audio encoding codec is G.711 with Silence Suppression.
The default value is 19, which is Sonus

Make the required changes and click Save at the right hand bottom of the panel to save the changes made.
