Each Trunk Group can have a Media Port Range configured that indicates a range of values to use when allocating UDP ports. To provision a UDP media port range slightly larger than the actual count of ports ostensibly required to support the maximum simultaneous calls (not applicable to TCP media). The system reserves two UDP ports for each incoming UDP media call leg: one for (S)RTP and one for (S)RTCP. Thus, a configured port range must contain at least twice as many port numbers as the maximum simultaneous calls to be supported for that IPTG (not applicable to TCP media).Use the Media Port Range window to configure a range of UDP ports to use for RTP/RTCP media for a specific SIP trunk group.

To View and Edit the Media Port Range

On the SBC main screen, go to All > Address ContextZone > SIP Trunk Group > Media > Media Port Range or

The currently configured values for the specified trunk group appear.

ParameterDescription
Base UDP Port

Indicates Specifies the start of the range of UDP ports to use for RTP/RTCP media for this trunk group. This value must be within the system-wide level media port range. The value ranges from Values between 1024-65534 are allowed and the default value is 1024 none. If the value is set to none, then it indicates that this particular control is not applied and the port range specified by the system wide the value is inherited from the system-level Media Port Rangesettings are used.

Max UDP Port

Indicates Specifies the end of the range of UDP ports to use for RTP/RTCP media for this trunk group. This value must be greater than the value of Base Udp UDP Portand within the system-wide level media port range. The value ranges from Values between 1024-65534 are allowed and the default value is 65148 none.   If the value is set to none, then it indicates that this particular control is not applied and the port range specified by the system wide the value is inherited from the system-level Media Port Rangesettings are used..
