  1. FCC Part 68 Registration
    The Ribbon SBC 1000 Unified Exchange complies with Part 68 of the FCC Rules and the requirements adopted by the Administrative Council of Terminal Attachments (ACTA). On the back of this equipment is a label that contains, among other information, the ACTA labeling identification numbers US:1BHISNANSonus SBC 1000 or US:1BHIS04BSonus SBC 1000number US RBCIS02BSBC1000. If requested, this information must be given to the telephone company.
  2. Ringer Equivalence Number (REN)
    The ringer equivalence number (REN) is used to determine the quantity of devices which may be connected to the telephone line. Excessive RENs on the telephone line may result in the devices not ringing in response to an incoming call. In most, but not all areas, the sum of RENs should not exceed five (5.0). To be certain of the number of devices that may be connected to a line, as determined by the total RENs, contact the local telephone company.
  3. Facility Interface Information

    In order to connect registered terminal equipment to the telephone company lines, the terminal equipment must utilize FCC registered jacks. Standardized jacks are used for this equipment.
    The following tables list facility interfaces, manufacturer's network interface port designations, RENs or service order codes, and network jacks.
