Note

Applies to SWe LIte only. For SBC Edge 1000/2000, refer to Managing VLANs - SBC Edge 1000-2000.

Info

The

Spacevars
0product3
supports a maximum of 20 Logical Interfaces. Up to 15 - 18 of these interfaces can be configured as VLANs (this number depends how many media interfaces are used (1 admin interface in addition to 1 - 4 media interfaces).

For the

Spacevars
0series3
,   VLAN sub-interfaces allows the separation of either management traffic between the service provider and the customer, or to keep media traffic from multiple sources separate (that need to exist on the same SWe Lite instance). For example, a service provider could use a VLAN to manage a SWe Lite at a customer premise, while also having a management interface for the customer; the service provider and the customer would be on the same physical network, but have separate logical interfaces.

...

Configuration for each VLAN sub-interface is identical to the main interfaces (except the VLAN value is used to specify the interface as a sub-interface).

Note

Unlike the SBC Edge 1000/2000, the SBC SWe Lite does not support the Priority Field in the VLAN header of SIP and RTP packets, since the field in that header forms part of the packets, rather than the actual SIP/RTP data.

Working with VLANs

  1. In the WebUI, click the Settings tab.In the left navigation pane, go to Network Interfaces > Logical Interfaces.
