The
hardware platform comes equipped with four media ports and is available in three models based on the media port configuration. Customers must purchase the appropriate model based on their interface and capacity requirements. The media ports are enabled on the chassis depending upon the network interface license installed. Media Port Speed | Description |
---|
10 Gbps | In 2 x 10 Gbps mode:
| 1 Gbps | In 4 x 1 Gbps mode: - Media 0, Media 1, Media 2, and Media 3 run at 1 Gbps and all the four ports are configurable.
- Pkt2 and Pkt3 ports do not operate without the 4 x1 Gbps license.
Media 0 socket maps to pkt0, Media1 socket maps to pkt1, Media2 socket maps to pkt2, and Media 3 socket maps to pkt3.
In 2 x 1 Gbps mode: - Media 0 and Media 1 run at 1 Gbps.
- Media 2 and Media 3 are inactive.
- Media 0 socket maps to pkt0, Media1 socket maps to pkt1, Media 2 socket maps to pk2, and Media 3 socket maps to pkt3.

Info |
---|
|
- The 2 x 10 Gbps flavor of the SBC 5400 does not support full-bandwidth DoS protection on both the packet ports.
- On a 2 x 10 Gbps flavor of the SBC 5400, the two 10 GE packet ports do not support an active-standby port redundancy model with each other. Both the ports are active when enabled on an Active SBC node, and both the ports are standby on a Standby SBC node.
- A single SBC-1 X 10 GMP packet port license is used to enable both 10 GE packet ports on an SBC 5400 in 10 Gbps mode.
|
Info |
---|
|
- The 2 x 1 Gbps mode is a default mode that any SBC 5400 platform can use. A license is required to use both 4 x 1 Gbps and 2 x 10 Gbps modes.
- If there is no license, only ports 0 and 1 are operable.
|
Media port speed is user-configurable. The following licenses support the media port configurations:
- SBC-4 X 1 GMP – This license allows four 1 Gbps media ports.
- SBC-1 X 10GMP – This license allows two 10 Gbps media ports.
