This object is accessible only in SBC SWe and SWe Cloud environments.

Use this window to view or create SWe traffic profiles. The performance of the SBC SWe VMs can be optimized by providing the anticipated call mix as part of configuring the SBC SWe instance. The call mix is conveyed through a traffic profile which includes factors such as the amount and type of transcoding anticipated. The SBC includes a set of predefined call mixes in its standard traffic profiles. You have the option to create a custom traffic profiles with a call mix that is more suitable for your environment. You can have a maximum of 20 profiles in the system.

To View SWe Traffic Profiles

On the SBC main screen, go to All > System > Swe Traffic Profiles. The Swe Traffic Profiles window opens showing the standard profiles and any custom profiles you created.

ParameterDescription
Name The SWe traffic profile name. The list of profiles include the following standard profiles:
  • default - By default, non-cloud instances are assigned the default profile. This profile retains the SBC SWe behavior of earlier releases (5.0.x and 5.1.x), where signaling and media vCPUs  overlapped.
  • standard_signaling_profile - This profile utilizes the vCPUs for signaling (direct media) calls. It is assigned by default on cloud-based S-SBC instances.
  • standard_passthrough_profile - This profile utilizes the vCPUs for pass-through calls.
  • standard_transcoding_profile - This profile utilizes the vCPUs for transcoded calls.
  • standard_callmix_profile - This profile supports call mix which contain a combination of 90% pass-through and 10% transcoding calls.
  • standard_msbc_profile - The purpose of this profile is to utilize the vCPUs primarily for pass-through calls. This profile gets auto-configured on cloud-based M-SBC instances.
  • standard_highcps_callmix_profile - This profile is similar to standard pass-through profile with higher CPS.
Call Hold TimeAverage Call Hold Time of the call load.
Is AccessWhether the deployment supports an access scenario. Options are True or False (default).
Bhca Per SubscriberBHCA per subscriber. This option does not appear until Is Access is set to True.
Interval Refresh TimerRegistration interval, in seconds. This option does not appear until Is Access is set to True.

Direct Media PercentPercentage of the

The call load percentage for direct media. The

Transcode PercentPercentage of the call load that is transcoded.
Passthrough Codec ProfileThe pass-through codec mix profile to use.
Transcoding Codec ProfileThe transcoding codec mix profile to use. This option does not appear until the Transcode Percent is greater than 0/
Crypto PercentConfigured percentage value for the number of legs that are encrypted.
Tone PercentPercentage of legs that get tones treatment.
Processor Capability Index OverrideWhether or not a Capability Index Override should be configured.
Processor Capability Index Override ValueIf the value of the Processor Capability Index Override Value field is True, then this field can be configured.
Use GPUFor Transcoding

Use to specify the type of transcoding, GPU (true) or CPU (false). Options are True or False (default).

Sig Cost FactorUse this parameter to specify a signaling cost factor to use during capacity estimation. This factor affects the signaling plane estimation, such as CPS estimation (default = 1). This parameter is applicable only to custom profiles.
Media Cost FactorUse this parameter to specify a media cost factor to use during capacity estimation. This factor affects the media plane estimation, such as crypto session and pass-through session estimation. estimation (default = 1). This parameter is applicable only to custom profiles.
Tx PPSFactorUse this parameter to specify a transmitted (Tx) PPS factor to use during capacity estimation. Use the Rx/Tx parameters for scenarios such as SIPREC where the received/transmitted PPS may not be the same (asymmetric). (default = 1). This parameter is applicable only to custom profiles.
Rx PPSFactorUse this parameter to specify a received (Rx) PPS factor to use during capacity estimation. estimation (default = 1). This parameter is applicable only to custom profiles.

To Edit a SWe Traffic Profile

You cannot edit a traffic profile while it is active. For standard profiles, only the codec profile names can be changed. You can edit custom profiles that are not currently active.

On the Swe Traffic Profiles window:

  1. Click to select the radio button adjacent to the profile entry you want to edit. The Edit Selected Swe Traffic Profiles window opens.
  2. Edit the profile and Click Save

To Delete a SWe Traffic Profile

You cannot delete the standard profiles or a custom profile that is currently in use. You can delete other custom profiles.

On the Swe Traffic Profiles window:

  1. Click to select the radio button adjacent to the profile entry you want to delete.
  2. Confirm the deletion when prompted
