WAN failover enables the system to be configured with two WAN interfaces simultaneously: one as Primary and the other as Secondary. The following Primary/Secondary interfaces combinations are supported:
Two Physical Devices
- Ethernet Static IP and T1/ADSL
- Ethernet DHCP and T1/ADSL
- Ethernet PPPoE and T1/ADSL
- Ethernet DHCP and Ethernet DHCP—Available only when Dual WAN Ports is enabled.
Two Networks Over a Single Ethernet Device
- Ethernet Static IP and Ethernet Static IP
- Ethernet Static IP and Ethernet DHCP
- Ethernet Static IP and Ethernet PPPoE
To exclude an interface from Primary/Secondary combination, select the default system configuration for that interface:

Most EdgeMarcs support dual WAN interfaces. The use of the WAN T1 interface and the secondary WAN interface is also supported. Further, some Edgemarc model 6000s support the use of a mobile network connection as the secondary interface.

Selects the type of IPv6 WAN interface to use to connect to the internet.- Disabled - Secondary WAN interface settings are disabled (default).
- DHCP - Configures the device to obtain the WAN-side IP address using a DHCP server available from the WAN side of the network.
- Static IP - Configures the Secondary WAN interface with a static IP address:
- IPv6 Address/PrefixIPv6
- IPv6 Default Gateway
Refer to Configuring IPv6 Static IP.
- VLAN - Enables WAN VLAN support. See Configure WAN VLAN Settings for configuration information.
Note: WAN VLAN support is limited to a single WAN VLAN. Mobile: Enables you to get a WAN side IP address via a mobile network service provider. Make sure the SIM Card is inserted before booting the device. Otherwise, reboot the device to get the SIM card detected. Refer to Configure WAN Interface Settings.
Note: The option Mobile is available only on
6000 devices as LTE WAN functionality is available only on these devices.Spacevars 0 product2
