    LAN Interface Settings

Connects your system to the Local Area Network (LAN) for voice, video, and data service. See Configuring LAN Interface Settings

    ParameterDescription
IP AddressSpecifies the IP address needed to establish the connection to the LAN.Note: The system is shipped with a default LAN IP address of 192.168.1.1 and a default password. Following configuration, change the default password using the Administration page. Click Admin in the Configuration Menu and refer to Change Your Password.
Subnet MaskSpecifies the network mask associated with the IP Address. Default: 255.255.255.0.
IPv6 Address/PrefixSpecifies the local IPv6 address and prefix to configure the LAN interface to be IPv6 enabled.
Enable VLAN SupportEnables VLAN support in the LAN.

Click Network > VLAN in the Configuration Menu and refer to Configuring VLAN Support.
Default VLAN IDDisplays the VLAN ID of the primary LAN interface. If a port has multiple VLANs assigned to it, it will use this VLAN ID as the PVID by default.
    Enable MultiLAN Ports

Enables the second and third Ethernet LAN ports on the EdgeMarc 7000 Series. Ports 5 and 6 become active; VLANs are created on Port 1 (eth0) by default.

The three LAN ports (1, 5 and 6) are grouped into a bridge (br_lan0). A LAN IP address is assigned to the bridge and services such as VoIP now use the bridge (br_lan0) instead of the physical interface (eth0). You can optionally change settings on the VLAN Membership page to create VLANs on the other ports and change packet types (all, tagged or untagged, along with PVID) on the VLAN Port Configuration page for each port. LANs and VLANs are grouped into bridges accordingly and VoIP and some other services can be configured to work on a specific bridge interface.

Refer to: Configuring Multi LAN Ports.

NOTE: The LAN and WAN networks must be different subnets. The LAN and WAN interfaces must not be attached to the same broadcast domain. For example, the LAN and WAN interfaces cannot be connected to the same hub or switch unless they are segmented with VLANs.
