Use the Nameserver window to add up to eight name servers within the configuration of the DNS Service Registry. The Service Registry is part of a Service Discovery framework the SBC uses to determine the address for certain services. Refer to Service Discovery for Trap Target Destinations and EMS Registration for more information. 

To View Nameserver Entries

Use the Call Notification Criteria Group Data window to add call notification criteria group data objects to a call notification criteria group. A group can contain up to 32 data objects that specify call notification criteria objects to include in the group. Call notification criteria and call notification criteria groups are used with the SBC's call notification feature. Refer to Sending Unsolicited Call Notifications to Application Servers for more information on call notification.

To View Call Notification Criteria Group Data

On the SBC main screen, go to All > Global  System> Servers Call Notification Criteria Group Call Notification Criteria Group Data Service Discovery > Service Registry Nameserver

The Nameserver window opens. If it is not already selected, select dns from the Service Registry list to show a list of existing name server entriesThe Call Notification Criteria Group Data window opens showing all the call notification criteria group data objects in the system. Select a group name in Call Notification Criteria Group to see the group data objects for that specific group

To Create a

Call Notification Criteria Group Data Object

A group data object must be created within a specific call notification criteria group. To create a call notification criteria group data object:

Name Server Entry

To create a name server entry:

  1. Click New Nameserver. The Create New Nameserver

  2. In Call Notification Criteria Group, select the name of the group to which you want to add a group data object so that the group contains additional call notification criteria. The New Call Notification Criteria Group option becomes available.
  3. Click New Call Notification Criteria Group. The Create New Call Notification Criteria Group Data window opens.

  4. Use the following table to configure the options and then click Save.

ParameterDescription
SequenceIndexSpecifies a sequence number for a set of call notification criteria within the call notification criteria group. The SBC Embedded Routing Engine (ERE) checks for a match in sequence order until it finds a match or exhausts the list of notification criteria. The range allowed is 0 to 31.
Call Notification Criteria IDSelect the name of the call notification criteria object to associate with the sequence number.

To Edit a Call Notification Criteria Group Data Object

the index value for the name server. Each name server instance must have a unique index number. The range allowed is 0 to 7.
PortSpecifies the port number to use on the name server. The range is 1 to 65535 and the default is 53.
PrioritySpecifies a priority for the name server. The range is 0 to 100 and the default is 0.
Weight

Specifies a weight for the name server. The range is 0 to 100 and the default is 0.

Name servers with the same priority are prioritized based on the following formula: W/SW, where W = the weight of the name server and SW = the sum of the weights of the name servers having the same priority.

HostnameSpecifies an FQDN of up to 128 characters for the name server. If you specify a host name (FQDN), the IP address is resolved using the system name server assigned to the SBC management interface.
IP Address V4 or V6Specifies an IPv4 or IPv6 address for the name server.


To Edit a Name Server Entry

  1. Select the name server by clicking the radio button adjacent to its entry. The Edit Selected Nameserver Select the call notification criteria group data object by clicking the radio button adjacent to it. The Edit Selected Call Notification Criteria Group Data window opens.

  2. Make the required changes and click Save.

To Copy a

Call Notification Criteria Group Data Object

Name Server Entry

  1. Select the name server by Select the call notification criteria group data object by clicking the radio button adjacent to itits entry.

  2. Click Copy Call Notification Criteria Group DataNameserver. The Copy Selected Call Notification Criteria Group Data Nameserver window opens.

  3. Make changes and click Save.

To Delete a

Call Notification Criteria Group Data Object

Name Server Entry

  1. Select the name server by Select the call notification criteria group data object by clicking the radio button adjacent to itits entry.

  2. Click the Delete icon (X) at the end of the row.
  3. Confirm the deletion when prompted.
