Use this object to configure Use the DNS - Global window to configure global DNS settings.

On the SBC main screen, go to Configuration > System ProvisioningCategory: Base Provisioning >DNS > Servers > Dns DNS > Global. The Global window is displayedopens.

Parameter

Iteration

Count

 

Specifies Global Iteration DNS iteration count limit for DNS iterations of server requests. The value ranges from 0 to 32 and the default value is 8.

Retransmission

Count

Specifies Global retransmission count limit for DNS iterations of server requests. The value ranges from 0 to 20 and the default value is 2.

Retransmission

Timer

Specifies Global retransmission timer value (in milliseconds) for DNS iterations of server requests. The value ranges from 100 to 10000 and the default value is 500.

Monitoring

Interval

Specifies Global monitoring interval (in seconds) for DNS Serversservers.  The value ranges from 1 to 300 and the default value is 5.

Timeouts

Specifies Global number of time outs timeouts for blacklisting a DNS Serverserver. The value ranges from 0 to 32 and the default value is 0.

Probe

Interval

Specifies Global probe interval (in seconds) for blacklisted DNS Serversservers. The value ranges from 1 to 300 and the default value is 5.

Edns Payload SizeGlobal EDNS payload size, in bytes, for DNS servers. The value ranges from 512 to 4096 and the default value is 1280.
Edns Retry AfterNumber of seconds to wait before retrying to establish EDNS support after a failure. The value ranges from 60 to 180 and the default is 180.
Edns Failure CountMaximum number of EDNS failure responses allowed, after which the DNS server is identified as unsupported for EDNS. The value ranges from 1 to 5 and the default value is 3.
