Use this parameter to define the unique identifier for the codec entry.

On the SBC main screen, navigate to All > Profiles > Media > Tone Codec Entry.

The Tone Codec Entry window is displayed.

To Create a New Tone Codec Entry

To create a new Tone Codec Entry, Click +New Tone Codec Entry on the Tone Codec Entry List window.

The Create New Tone Codec Entry window is displayed.

Codec
Use this parameter to specify the codec types.
The supported codec types are:
  • Amr Bandwidth Efficient
  • Amr Octet Aligned
  • Amrwb Bandwidth Efficient

  • Amrwb Octet Aligned
  • Evrc
  • Evrc0
  • Evrcb
  • Evrcb0
  • G711
LawUse this parameter to specify the G.711 law to use. This parameter is visible only when the codec type is set as  G711.
  • ALaw
  • ULaw (default)

NOTE: To view the parameter Law, select G711 from the Codec dropdown list.

Coding Rate

Use this parameter to specify the audio coding rate. This parameter is visible only when the codec type is selected either as of the following codecs:

  • Amr Bandwidth Efficient
  • Amr Octet Aligned
  • Amrwb Bandwidth Efficient

  • Amrwb Octet Aligned

NOTE: The Amr Bandwidth Efficient, Amr Octet Aligned, and Amrwb Octet Aligned codecs do not have corresponding announcement files mapping to the Segment ID.

When the codec type is selected either as Amr Bandwidth Efficient or as Amr Octet Aligned, the coding rates are:

  • AMR-0-4.75kbps (default)
  • AMR-1-5.15kbps 
  • AMR-2-5.90kbps 
  • AMR-3-6.70kbps 
  • AMR-4-7.40kbps 
  • AMR-5-7.950kbps 
  • AMR-6-10.20kbps 
  • AMR-7-12.20kbps

When the codec type is selected either as Amrwb Bandwidth Efficient or as Amrwb Octet Aligned, the coding rates are:

  • AMR-0-6.6 (default)
  • AMR-1-8.85
  • AMR-2-12.65
  • AMR-3-14.25
  • AMR-4-15.85
  • AMR-5-18.25
  • AMR-6-19.85
  • AMR-7-23.05
  • AMR-8-23.85
 

Click Save to save the changes. Click Undo Edits to cancel all changes.

To Edit a Tone Codec Entry

To edit a Tone Codec Entry, select the entry from the Tone Codec Entry List window by clicking the radio button next to it.

To delete a Tone Codec Entry, select the entry from the Tone Codec Entry List window by clicking the radio button next to it.

Click the Delete symbol at the right end of the selected row. The Delete toneCodecEntry dialog box is displayed.

Click Yes to confirm deletion, or No to cancel it.

On successful deletion, a success message is displayed. Click OK to complete the deletion process.
