For security reasons, change the BMC root password using the steps below:

  1. Log on to the SBC BMC using the IP address configured in the previous sections. The SBC BMC main screen appears.

  2. Click Configuration > Users. The User Management screen is displayed.

  3. Login to the BMC web application and click Configuration tab.
    Click Users from the Options menu.

    Select the root user from the user list.

  4. Click Modify User.
    The following window displays:

  5. Select Change Password option.
  6. Enter a new password in both the Password and Confirm Password fields.

    Follow these criteria to set a new password:

    - should contain a minimum of 8 characters

    - should contain a minimum of 1 uppercase character

    - should contain a minimum of 1 special character

    - should contain a minimum of 1 lowercase character

    - should contain a minimum of 1 special character

    - should contain a minimum of 1 numeric character

  7. Click Modify to complete the password change.

The new password gets activated for the next BMC login.
