When the ASM is deployed as a Lync SBA, it is important that you always install the latest Cumulative Updates (CU) for Lync Server.

Your Lync SBA must be fully deployed, and all Lync services must be running before applying the CU.

  1. From the Sonus SBC 1000-2000 Download Center, download the latest ASM-UPDATES-CU update (the file name ASM-UPDATES-XXX_YYY-ZZZ_UX1k2k-release3.0.x-and-later.zip, where XXX refers to the version of Skype/Lync you are using, YYY refers to the oldest CU on this package, and ZZZ refers to the newest CU on this package).

  2. Open the .zip file and unpack it to a temporary folder. This will produce a ASM_XXX_ZZZ.pkg file.

  3. Install the package by following the instructions outlined in Installing an ASM Package.

Checking When No Cumulative Updates are Installed

When Deploying the Survivable Branch Appliance Preparing for SBA Deployment - First Steps for the first time, the Lync SBA will have no Cumulative Updates to start with. The following services will appear with version of 4.0.7577.0 which indicates that no updates are installed:
