Overview
Note |
---|
Linked Signaling Groups support PRI interfaces only; BRI interfaces are not supported. |
The Linked Signaling Groups option enables you to link a SIP signaling group to an ISDN signaling group. When the applicable Signaling Group (ISDN or SIP) is "Up" or "Down", the corresponding signaling group goes "Up" or "Down". For example, when a linked ISDN Signaling Group comes "Up" (initial state was "Down"), the corresponding SIP Signaling Group will also change the state to "Up" and send a SIP REGISTER request.
Linked Signaling Groups supports bi-directional control, which indicates a SIP signaling group can control ISDN signaling group(s) and ISDN signaling group(s) can control a SIP signaling group.
Bidirectional Control - Resulting Actions
Signaling Group Status | Resulting Action |
---|---|
The SIP Signaling Group in a linked group goes "down" | All corresponding ISDN Signaling Group(s) go "down" |
TheSIP Signaling Group in a linked group comes "up" | All corresponding ISDN Signaling Group(s) come "up" |
ALL ISDN Signaling Groups in a linked group go "down" | Corresponding SIP Signaling Group goes "down" |
ALL ISDN Signaling Group(s) in a linked group comes "up" | Corresponding SIP Signaling Group come "up" |
ANY but not ALL ISDN SIgnaling Group(s) in a linked group go "down" or "up" | Corresponding SIP Signaling Group stay "up" |

Linked Signaling Groups - Limitations
The table below includes the minimum/maximum number of signaling groups (SIP and ISDN) allowed to be configured in a Linked Signaling Group.
Minimum/Maximum Number of Signaling Groups Allowed
Product | Signaling Group Type | Minimum Number Configured in Linked SGs | Maximum Number Configured in Linked SGs |
---|---|---|---|
SBC 1000 | SIP Signaling Group | 1 | 1 |
ISDN Signaling Group | 1 | 4 | |
SBC 2000 | SIP Signaling Group | 1 | 1 |
ISDN Signaling Group | 1 | 10 |
