The SBC 5400 Hardware Platform comes with three modes of media port configurations. The 2x1Gb 2x1 Gb interface mode does not require a license and is enabled by default. For the rest of the interface modes, appropriate licenses should be purchased from Sonus.

The following table provides the complete interface modes and its required licenses.

This section explains the procedures to upgrade the media interfaces in SBC 5400.

The following procedure is applicable only when you upgrade from 2x1Gb 2x1 Gb or 4x1Gb 4x1 Gb to 1x10Gb 1x10 Gb interface mode.

  1. Log on to SBC 5400 BMC GUI using the credentials: username: root and password: superuser.

  2. Navigate to Remote Control > Server Power Control. The Power Control and Status window is displayed.

  3. Select Power Off Server - Orderly Shutdown (preferred) or Power Off Server - Immediate and click Perform Action.

    The BMC and the SBC Application shuts down.

  4. Navigate to Configuration > Platform Management Network. The Platform Management Network Settings screen is displayed.
  5. Enable the check box Enable 10G Media Speed. This changes the media interface speed from 2x1Gb 2x1 Gb or 4x1Gb 4x1 Gb to 1x10Gb 1x10 Gb.

  6. Click OK to proceed.
  7. Click Save. The new changes are saved.
  8. Navigate to Remote Control > Server Power Control. The Power Control and Status window is displayed.
  9. Select Power On Server. The BMC and the SBC Application starts.
  10. Once the SBC comes up, log on to the application using the default credentials admin/admin. Change you password immediately to proceed further. Refer to  EMA Mode - Login Window to know more about application login credentials.
  11. Navigate to Monitoring > Dashboard > System Status. The System Status window is displayed. Under the Server Status panel, the Pkt Port Speed column provides the speed of the media interface port.

Only the Pkt0 port runs at 10 Gbps and Pkt1, Pkt2, and Pkt3 ports will be inactive.

At this stage, the existing configuration is completely erased. Configure the application as per your needs. Refer to How to Set up a Basic Call Flow to start with you fresh configuration.
