The chassis must be shutdown before changing the Solid State Drive. Removing the SSD while the system is running can crash the system and corrupt the SSD. |
Perform the following procedure to replace the Solid State Drive:

Press the round button (SSD Eject button) to the left of the SSD that is being removed.

The BLUE LED next to the SSD must start flashing and the system must start a graceful shutdown.
Wait for the BLUE LED to stay on SOLID.
The SSD can now safely be removed.
Unscrew the two thumb screws using the torque driver with 3/8" socket and 11/32" socket and pull the Solid State Drive disk to remove it as shown below.

Insert the new SSD into the same slot that contained the old one. |
Remove the SSD and place it into the ESD protective bag.
Remove the new SSD from the ESD bag and insert it completely to the empty SSD slot.
Tighten the captive screw to 6" in-lb.
Reapply power to

Unplug the ESD wrist strap from the front of the chassis.
