Use the SIP Ood window to specify a global rate limit for incoming SIP out-of-dialog (OOD) messages, per second. In calculating the rate, the SBC counts all SIP out-of-dialog requests except INVITE AND REGISTER requests

...

. The purpose for the configured limit is to specify when to alert an operator that the limit is exceeded. When the configured message rate is exceeded, the SBC generates a trap. A clear trap is generated when the message rate falls to 90 percent or less of the configured rate limit. Refer to Global - Ood Message Current Statistics and Global - Ood Message Interval Statistics for information in usage rates on the system.

To Set the SIP OOD Message Rate Limit

  1. From the SBC main window go to All > Global > SIP Ood. The SIP Ood window opens.

  2. In Licensed Max Rate Limit, enter a numeric value between 1 and 65535 to specify the maximum number of OOD messages per second that can occur before a trap is triggered. The default value is unlimited.
  3. Click Save.
