Use the object Path Check Path to:

  • use the Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) to check if the remote entities are reachable.
  • generate and send the ping packets based on the configuration.
  • run up to 300 ping sessions simultaneously.
  • monitor the responses and validates if there is a failure due to specific conditions.

To View Path Check Path

  1. On the SBC main screen, navigate to All > System > Path Check Path.
  2. The Path Check Path window is displayed.

To Edit Path Check Path

  1. In the Path Check Path List window, select the Path Check Path that you want to edit by clicking the radio button adjacent to it.

  2. The Edit Selected Path Check Path window is displayed.

  3. Make changes and click Save to save the changes. Click Clear to cancel the changes.

 

To Copy Path Check Path

  1. In the Path Check Path List window, select the Path Check Path that you want to edit by clicking the radio button adjacent to it.

  2. Click  in the Path Check Path List window.
  3. The Copy Selected Path Check Path window is displayed.

  4. Make changes and click Save to save the changes. Click Clear to cancel the changes.

 

To Create Path Check Path

  1. Click  in the Path Check Path List window.
  2. The Create New Path Check Path window is displayed.

Source IP AddressSpecifies the source IP address (IPv4/IPv6) of the ping patch.
Target IP AddressSpecifies the target IP address (IPv4/IPv6) of the ping patch.
Report Signal IP AddressSpecifies the reported signaling IP address (IPv4/IPv6) of the ping patch.
Report Signal IP PortSpecifies the reported signaling IP port (0-65535) of the ping patch.
Path Check ProfileSpecifies the name of the Path Check Profile on which the existing Path Check Path object is created.
Address ContextSpecifies the name of the Address Context on which the Path Check Path object is created.
ZoneSpecifies the name of the Zone on which the Path Check Path object is created.
IP Interface GroupSpecifies the name of the IP Interface Group where the corresponding IP Interface is present which triggers the ping.
IP InterfaceSpecifies the name of the IP Interface from which the ping must be generated.
State

Specifies the administrative state of Path Check Path object.

  • Enabled

To edit, copy or create a Path Check Path, ensure that the Path Check Profile selected from the drop-down list has its parameter Protocol set to Icmp. For more information on Path Check Profile, refer to Service Profiles - Path Check Profile

To Delete Path Check Path

  1. In the Path Check Path List window, select the Path Check Path that you want to edit by clicking the radio button adjacent to it.

  2. Click the delete symbol at the right end of the row containing the selected Path Check Path.
  3. The Delete pathCheckPath dialog-box is displayed.

  4. Click Yes to confirm deletion, or No to cancel it.
  5. On successful deletion, a success message is displayed.
  6. Click Ok on the success message to complete the deletion process.
