  1. Log on to SBC BMC GUI using the IP address configured in one of the previous sections.

    Note

    Use any one of the following methods to obtain the BMC IP address:

    Or

  2. Click Configuration > Platform Management Network tab. The Platform Management Network Settings screen is displayed.

    Note

    Refer to SBC 5400 Media Ports and Operational Modes to know more about these four media ports and their operational modes.

    Warning

    Any changes to the media port speed, deletes the existing configuration. To use the option, Enable 10G Media Speed, power off the host first.

    The SBC 5400 platform includes the following configurable media port configurations.

    In 10 Gbps mode, only media0 is configurable and operable.

  3. SBC-4X1GMP – This license allows four 1 Gbps media ports.
  4. SBC-1X10GMP – This license allows one 10 Gbps media port.
    Note
    2 x 1 Gbps mode is a default mode that any SBC 5400 platform can use.

    A

    license is required to use both 4 x 1 Gbps and 1 x 10 Gbps modes.
  5. If there is no license, only ports 0 and 1 are operable.
  6. The media port speed is user-configurable and the following licenses are added in this release in support of the media port configurations:

    A message appears to enter the management IP addresses for the first time installation.

  7. If the management interfaces have not yet been configured, a warning message appears. Click OK to proceed with the Management Port configuration.

  10. Configure the following network settings for all the four management interfaces from 0 to 3.as needed:

    - IPv4 Address or/and IPv6 Address

    - Prefix

    - Default Gateway

    , Prefix and Default Gateway

    - IPv6 Address, Prefix and Default Gateway

    Note

    The IPv4 Address, Prefix and Default Gateway should be configured for Management Interface "0". For all other Management Interfaces, the settings are optional.

  11. Click Save.
Note

If you are updating a new Management IP address through BMC and click Save, reinstall the SBC application software (see the message appears in the below figure). Updating management IP using CLI/EMS/EMA will get updated automatically in BMC and re-installation is not requiredOnce you save the changes to the Management IP addresses, a warning message appears. Note that the changes to the Management IP addresses will only take effect when the SBC application is Installed (or re-Installed if already present). Refer to SBC 5400 - Installing Application for more information.
