Server Admin

The Server Admin table describes the configuration of each server module. A server module can be a standalone server or a server card in a chassis based system.

To view the list of Server Admins, on SBC main screen, go to Administration > System Administration > Server Admin. The Server Admin window is displayed.

By default only ten entries are displayed in a view. You can choose the number of entries to be displayed under the Show entries drop down box. 

To edit any of Admins listed, click the radio button of the required Admin, the edit window appears:

Parameter

Description

Name

Specifies unique name of the server.

Coredump Profile

Select the coredump profile from the drop-down list.

Role

Specifies the server module. When set to primary, it designates a server for internal processing. The options are:

  • primary
  • secondary
Modular TypeSpecifies the hardware (modular) type of the server.
Hw TypeSpecifies the type of SBC Hardware that you are currently working on.

Parameter

Description

Force Core Dump

Use this command to force the termination of a fixed set of application processes with accompanying core dumps for troubleshooting purposes. By default, a full dump is performed if no option is specified.

Before the command executes, the user is prompted to confirm or cancel the operation. If canceled, no further action is taken, and application operation is not affected.

  • full – Full set of processes to dump (see Table 3 below).
  • partial – Partial set of processes to dump (see Table 4 below).

This command causes the SBC application to restart.

Identity

Turn on/off the locator LED of the specified server for the amount of time set with the duration sub-parameter below.

  • duration – The duration (in seconds) to illuminate the locator LED of specified server. The LED illuminates for the specified number of seconds and then extinguishes. A duration of "0" turns off the locator LED and a duration of "255" turns on the locator LED indefinitely. If the duration is not specified, 15 seconds is set as the default value.
Remove Coredump

Use this object to remove the specified coredump from the chosen server.

  • coredumpFileName <filename> – The name of the coredump file.

Restart

This command restarts a server/CE.
Soft ResetRestart the applications on the system without rebooting the server(s).

Select the desired Admin Command from the list and click Select.

A pop up window appears seeking your confirmation on the command you have selected and its respective fields to be filled/chosen.

Fill/Choose the required fields if any and click the command button to confirm. A message appears stating the action of the command.
