The following steps link to the procedures needed to instantiate signaling SBC SWe (S-SBC) and media SBC SWe (M-SBC) in 1:1 HA clusters on OpenStack clusters in the OpenStack cloud environment using Virtual Network Function Manager (VNFM).

Downloading the SBC SWe Software Package

Refer to the latest release notes for the names of the specific files to download to install the latest release. This will include a .qcow2 file that contains the SBC installation software. You also must download a Virtual Network Function Descriptor (VNFD) template file along with a script that you will use to generate a customized Cloud Service Archive (CSAR) package file and .qcow2 file you need to download and use with VNFM to install the latest releasethat is appropriate for your specific type of network environment. The CSAR file will contain a customized VNFD file that will define the fundamental characteristics of your deployment based on the options you selected when running the script.

Pre-Instantiation Requirements of OpenStack

Ensure you have prepared your OpenStack cloud environment to meet the requirements for instantiating SBC SWe nodes.

Creating an SBC SWe Cluster

Using the EMS GUI, create the clusters used for managing and configuring M-SBC and S-SBC HA pairs of the SBC SWe nodes.

Instantiating SBC SWe on OpenStack using VNFM

Use VNFM to instantiate M-SBC and S-SBC HA pairs of the SBC SWe nodes.

Configuring SBC SWe using SBC Configuration Manager

Use SBC Configuration Manager on the EMS to configure M-SBC and S-SBC the SBC SWe clusters.
