The media interface upgrade from 2X1 Gbps to 4X1 Gbps operation mode is not service impacting. All the four packet ports can be configured at any time. Adding the license, "SBC-4X1GMP", enables the packet ports Pkt2 and Pkt3.

Pre-requisites

  1. SBC 5400 should be running on 05.01.00R000 or higher version.
  2. Procure the required media interface licenses. Refer to SBC 5400 Media Ports and Operational Modes for an explanation of media port speeds and required media interface licenses.
  3. For a 2x1 Gbps Media Interface, the Media slots 0 and 1 are already occupied with 1 Gb SFPs. Navigate to Monitoring > Dashboard > Ports > Ethernet Ports > Packet Port Status. The Packet Port Status window is displayed. Observe that only the Pkt0 and Pkt1 ports are in Enabled state and the other two are in Disabled state stating no license.
