 If there is a need to access the ESXi server remotely, download and install vSphere Client to the desktop.

  1. From the VMware ESXi Welcome page, click Download vSphere Client for Windows link.

  2. After launching the installer, login to the vSphere Client from the VMware vSphere Client dialog by entering Sonus-provided user credentials and clicking Login.

  3. Identify and reserve two static IP addresses prior to creating the virtual

Install SBC SWeLite on the ESXi Server

  1. Once you login to the ESXi server, you can install the

  2. Select Deploy OVF Template from the File drop-down menu.

  3. Enter a URL or a path on your computer (Browse) to download and install the OVF package to, and click Next twice.

  4. The Name and Location screen displays.

  5. Rename the

    Spacevars

     instance to avoid duplication or deletion of an existing instance.

  6. Click Next to display the Disk Format screen.
  7. Ensure Thick Provision Lazy Zeroed option is selected.

  9. If required, select a different media port network interface from the Destination Networks drop-down menu.

Edit the Virtual Machine Settings

  1. Select the newly-created

  2. Select the Edit virtual machine settings link on the Getting Started tab.

  3. From the Hardware tab, select Memory from the left panel.
  4. From the Memory Configuration panel, set modify the memory size to 1 GB if required by clicking the arrows in the Memory Size field and click OK.

  5. Power on the

     by selecting Power on the virtual machine on the Getting Started tab.

  6. Select Network adapter 1 from the Hardware tab of Virtual Machine Properties.

  7. Power off the virtual machine.
  8. Make note of the MAC Address and Network Connection as shown below.

  9. Repeat steps 56-8 for Network adapter 2 through Network adapter 5.
  10. Select Power on the virtual machine from the Getting Started tab.

  11. Select the Console tab or from the Summary tab select the Open Console link.

  12. Login as user netconfig and password config. This launches the interface mapping shell script. 
     

  13. Change the password for user netconfig. The password must be at least six characters in length and include uppercase and lowercase characters, a number, plus other combinations of characters.

  14. Enter the admin interface name.
  15. Enter the Ethernet 1 Media interface name.

    The interface mapping shell script requests that the user provide the interface name to map the interface as shown in the WebUI.

    The MAC address identified previously in the virtual machine editing portion of this procedure is required in order to correctly map the interface. The interface name and MAC address are required to properly activate the interface and have it appear on the WebUI.


  16. Ensure the admin port is connected to a network with DHCP server enabled.

    If the network mapping and connection are correct, the Admin IP address will display on the console port. If the Admin IP address does not display, check the connections and network mapping.

  17. Login from the console as user root, and password chorus.

Complete Initial Setup

  1. Enter the initial Admin IP address of the

  3. Power down the Virtual machine.
