Install the VMware vSphere Client

 If there is a need to access the ESXi server remotely, download and install vSphere Client to the desktop.

  1. From the VMware ESXi Welcome page, click Download vSphere Client for Windows.

  2. After installing, login to the vSphere Client using the appropriate login credentials.

  3. Identify and reserve two static IP addresses for the Management and Media ports prior to creating the virtual

Install SBC SWe Lite on the ESXi Server

  1. Enter the ESXi server IP address into a browser address bar to login.

  2. After logging on to the ESXi server, select select Deploy OVF Template from the  from the File drop drop-down list.

  3. Select the location of the OVF the OVF package, and then click click Next.

  4. When the OVF  OVF Template Details pane  pane opens, make note of the information listed and then click click Next.

  5. When the the Name and Location pane  pane opens, rename the the

     instance to make it unique in the inventory folder, and then click click Next.

  6. Select the the Resource Pool to  to deploy the template, and then click click Next.

  7. Ensure that the the Thick Provision Lazy Zeroed option  option is selected in the the Disk Format dialog  dialog box, and then click click Next.

  8. Review the the Network Mapping dialog  dialog box. If necessary, select a different media port network interface from the the Destination Networks drop drop-down list, and then click click Next.

  9. Make note of the deployment settings, and then click click Finish to  to start the deployment task.

Edit the Virtual Machine Settings

  1. Select the newly-created

    from  from the list in the left pane.

  2. Select the the Edit virtual machine settings link  link on the the Getting Started tab tab.

comes with 1 GB memory, one CPU and five network interfaces.    

Configuring Virtual Network Adapters

  1. Select Select Network adapter 1 from the Hardware tab of  from the Hardware tab of Virtual Machine Properties.
  2. In MAC  MAC Address section  section of the right window pane, select select Manual.

    You must assign the MAC address manually. Do not accept the automatic default.
    The MAC address field is populated with the first three octets.

  3. Finish configuring the static MAC address provided address provided by your Network IT Administrator.

  4. Repeat for the remaining four Network adapters (2 -5).

  5. Configure at least two network interfaces for the appropriate network.

  6. Click Click OK to  to save and then exit the the Settings window window.

  7. Power on the the

  8. Click the the Console tab tab.

Deleting a VM InstanceVM Instance

If needed, perform the following steps to delete a VM instance from the server.

Enter the ESXi server IP address into a browser address bar to login.

2Power off Exit the instance.

Click ? > ? > ?Select the instance and click Delete from Disk.

Note: Do not select Remove from Inventory. Doing so could impact other VM instances on the server. 

Complete Initial Setup

Proceed to Proceed to SBC SWe Lite Initial Setup. After setup is complete, proceed to License Installation.

License Installation

Trial License Installation

If you are installing an SBC SWe Lite for a trial or demonstration deployment, proceed to Obtaining and Installing a SWe Lite Trial License.

Production License Installation

If you are installing an SBC SWe Lite instance to carry live enterprise traffic, proceed to Obtaining and  Obtaining and Installing a SWe Lite Production License.
