These instructions assume that your the SWe Lite is upgraded to Release 7.0; the system must be running 7.0 to support 2 or 4 vCPUs (depending on your license). See Working with Licenses. For details on hardware and software requirements, refer to: |
In Release 7.0, the SWe Lite supports the following:
- For Memory (RAM) : 1GiB, 2GiB, or 4GiB. Each SBC SWe Lite instance requires from 1GiB to 4GiB of RAM depending on the configuration.
- For vCPUs: 1, 2, or 4 CPUs.
The instructions below outline how to increase the number of vCPUs and increase memory on your VM instance, according to deployment type. In Release 7.0, the SWe Lite supports the following:

Adding vCPUs and Increasing RAM

- Login into a terminal access software (such as Putty), and log into the KVM server.
- Start the Virtual Machine Manager.
- From the list, click on the applicable VM instance.
- Power down the VM.
- Select Edit > Virtual Machine Details
- Select View > Details or click the
icon From the menu, click CPUs.The SWe Lite supports 1, 2, or 4 vCPUs.

- Click Apply.
From the menu, click Memory. Each SWe Lite instance with 1 vCPU requires 1 GiB (1024 MiB (1GiB) RAM; this amount is increased according to the number of vCPUs. Refer to SBC SWe Lite Hardware and Software Requirements.

- Click Apply.
- Start the VM instance. The SWe Lite is configured with the updated values.

- Launch Hyper-V Manager from the Windows Start menu.
- Power down the VM in which you will be adding vCPUs and RAM.
- Right-click on the desired VM instance and select Settings.
- Click on Memory. Each SWe Lite instance with 1 vCPU requires requires 1 GiB (1024 MiB (1GiB) RAM; this amount is increased according to the number of vCPUs. Refer to SBC SWe Lite Hardware and Software Requirements.

- Enter the desired memory and click OK.
Click on Processor. The SWe Lite supports 1, 2, or 4 vCPUs.

- Start the VM instance. The SWe Lite is configured with the updated values.

- Access vSphere Client.
- Click on the applicable VM instance
- Power down the VM.
- From the Getting Started tab, click Edit virtual machine settings.
From the Hardware tab, click Memory.
