Static Neighbor Tables manually map IPv6 addresses to link-layer addresses. This mapping occurs dynamically when an IPv6 address needs to be resolved to its link-layer address. An IPv6 static neighbor entry may also be created, which consists of an IPv6 address, MAC address, and an associated interface. It provides a static mapping between the provided IPv6 address and the provided MAC address.
